Emerald was introduced in 2024 as a new tier between Platinum and Diamond, and Riot deliberately compressed MMR into it to make the ladder feel longer. The result is that Emerald IV MMR often plays like Platinum I, and Emerald I MMR often plays like Diamond IV โ a genuinely large skill spread inside one tier.
Boosting Emerald cleanly requires a booster who can handle the top of the tier without slowing down. Every Titan Boost Emerald order is claimed by a Master+ main.
Why Emerald is harder than the old Platinum
Because Emerald replaces the top half of what used to be Platinum, the average Emerald IV player is measurably stronger than the average old-Platinum IV. LP gains inside Emerald are also smaller โ Riot uses the tier as an MMR compression layer.
A Challenger main pushes through Emerald in a few days by exploiting the compression itself: high win-rate players climb Emerald faster than any other tier because the LP formula rewards streaks.
